About Mike de la Flor, lead medical illustrator

Prior to starting MD Communcations Mike worked as the staff illustrator for Dr. Barry Kahan in the division of Immunology and Organ Transplantation, in the department of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Mike held a concurrent position at the department of Biomedical Communication at The Univeristy of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Prior to working for the University of Texas he worked in the department of Medical Illustration and Audio Visual Education at Baylor College of Medicine. Mike has been a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators since 1993 and is board certified medical illustrator.

Mike has published four computer graphics books including "Digital Sculpting with Mudbox" and "The Digital Biomedical Illustration Handbook". He is also a contributing writer for "3DWorld", "Computer Arts", and "MacWord" magazines. Mike was also an adjunct instructor at Kingwood College where he taught computer graphics.
